I also like the idea. If you really want to get into this hobby by way of obtaining many mantids, this is going to be outdated in time however. With a select few it really shouldn't be as much of a problem. A couple kinks worked out and this should be at the very least functional as well as...

Shield are fun, Ghosts and Budwings are also good. It depends a lot on your climate really, but mantids are very easy pets to own.

They will stay on as long as they want to, if he gets off, he's done. Unless of course they never connected.

Definitely use the search feature for a topic like this. This is my understanding: Mantids of about the same size and appearance, such as a species of Hierodula and a Chinese mantis, can and occasionally have been mated. The oothecae will be infertile. If a sub species of, say 2 different...

Yeah, the itching is a bad sign, could mean that something is irritating something in there.

Yeah, see them do that when they have excess on their raptorial arms...
