    P. wahlbergii appears to be sick

I appreciate it. I bought them as babies (L2 I think) and I didn't really have any plans to breed them but I began to consider it once it turned out to be a male and a female. Either way it's a shame 🤷‍♂️

    P. wahlbergii appears to be sick

Hi everyone, I have 2 P. wahlbergii and one of them appears to be in pretty bad shape. I think it's a female and she molted about 2 weeks ago, no wings yet - I'm not sure if that's relevant information but it can't hurt. As of today she's moving very slowly and seems pretty weak as well - in...

    MantisKingdom/DeShawn

I ordered two P. wahlbergii babies from DeShawn; they showed up happy, healthy and ready to demolish some fruit flies! I'd definitely purchase from him again in the future.

    Boosh96's mantis thread!

Here's some pics of my largest flower mantis! Poor little guy lost a leg in transit or something, but (s)he's doing perfectly fine without it!

    Proud new Creo owner

I have 3 new flower mantises as of today-one's really small, one molted in the shipping container and is a bit bigger, and the other one's pretty decent-sized I guess. There was a fourth one that arrived and I gave that one to my younger brother. I got them from Sally and posted positive...

    Sally

I'd totally buy from her again. I asked for 3 Creobroter (I think) and 5 were shipped. She cares A LOT about the mantises and the buyer, and getting free mantises plus inexpensive shipping was a plus.

    My nymph turned green(ish)

Hopefully she'll just turn greener in the future. I'm not sure how or why she just kinda suddenly turned green, though. But it's awesome that you've got a green ghost now! I'm really hoping mine turns green in the future. :P

How do you feel about your mantis(es)?

I'm pretty much the same way, except I plan on keeping my tarantulas throughout their lives. However, it's really interesting how mantids seem to be so trusting of people. That doesn't really make a lot of sense to me, seeing as they're prey to some larger animals in the wild and stuff like...

How do you feel about your mantis(es)?

First off, I really like my little ghost mantis. If he/she passed away it would suck for me, but frankly I wouldn't be devastated like if something happened to my snakes. My mom is okay with me having mantises, but she gave me a funny look when I was holding my ghost last night while I...

    Why pacmans?

You should totally get a Pacman frog. I have a 'Fantasy' cross named Peggy and I love her to death. May I also suggest an African bullfrog or a Budgett's frog? They're even more awesome than Pacman frogs. ABF males get friggin' BIG and Budgett's frogs are totally aquatic except during...

    Looking for Creobroter/Hymenopus

I'm looking for really any mantis from the genus Creobroter, or a Hymenopus coronatus. I'd prefer a L3/L4 nymph. PM me if you're interested in selling one or two! Thanks. :D

Trying so hard to be adorable!

Seriously, I did NOT think that was possible.

Experiment with the venom of two well-known Harmless scorpions

Well, at least you know how Heterometrus venom stacks up against H. troglodytes. That's a really interesting experiment for sure, but I'd suggest repeating it a few times and see if the results differ.

Trying so hard to be adorable!

I hate to say I'm not really the kind of guy that thinks inverts are cute, but THAT'S pretty cute. I think the caption helps too. Lol.

    Fogging for humidity

I personally can't think of any negative consequences, but honestly a fogger kinda seems unnecessary to me. What you can do is just mist the enclosure, like, every day or two. It'll save you money and do just as much good for your mantis. How big is the enclosure, and are you shooting for a...

    B. mendica question

I just might get a Hierodula venosa, as a matter of fact.

    B. mendica question

I read it, and it seems like B. mendica may not be the species for me.

    B. mendica question

Okay, so I'm planning on getting a Blepharopsis mendica nymph soon. I've heard that they prefer a dry setup, but what's the best way to make sure they get enough to drink?

Worrying about one of my little guys

Poor little guy died last night.. I'm thinking it may have been a bacterial infection.
