They look to be both males. Color difference is strange since both are kept in the same small deli cup together, I thought humidity was supposed to be the causing factor.
How can you tell from the crown on the head?HiYou do not look the antenna to detect Phyllocrania's sex, but the crown on the head. Both are females.

But of course you have to put the black button "Phyllocrania" (to reach this button, first you have to put the button "P-Z") instead of "Blepharopsis". In the pictures of Phyllocrania, the female is showen left and the male is showen right side, but there is even an english text explaining the pictures.Maybe this link can help help you: http://www.mantisonline.de/deutsch/index.htmlYou have to put the black button saying "Arten" (="species") and than the black butten saying "weiter ->" (="go on->"). Than you can see a black butten saying "Blepharopsis". 2 pictures will open which are showing the differences between males and femals of this species. You can enlarge these pictures by clickin on them. "Männchen" is =male (left), "Weibchen" is = female(right). If you go on and put the white button saying "allgemein" (=general") and switch "allgemein" to "mendica mendica", you can watch some other pictures of males and females of every instar.
