A Poem I Wrote

I wrote this poem a while back, last November I think. Its purpose is to raise awareness of world issues.

Here it is:

Another
[SIZE=18pt]Another day, another 4,500 children will die from preventable water-born illness,[/SIZE]

Another day, another 24 people will die of skin cancer,

Another day, another day without food, clothing, or shelter for millions of families,

Another war in the Middle East, another 4,683 American soldiers dead, another 775 who are emotionally traumatized,

Another year, another 2.1 million children sucked into child labor,

Another day, another rich person who does nothing to help those in need,

Another day, another poor person who gives to those even less fortunate than them,

Is this the world we live in?

Do we want it this way?

Do we like it this way?

Hummm, not quite a poem I would reconize, but I am no poet either. Nice to see someone so young concerned about the people in this world. Todays children usually just notice theirselves!

Wow, that sent shivers up my spine I like it, It's so true, a perfect example of human nature.

Remember evereyone, power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
