Checked on one of my adult female ghosts last night, and she's actually missing part of her right raptor. It's the part where the tarsus would be attached. I'm not sure if she lost it in a fall, got it stuck and dropped it, or just got into a short fight. My main concern is whether or not she'll be able to hunt on her own with only one good arm? I don't have any problem hand feeding if she can't hunt on her own. I'll try feeding her a fly and see what she does.

I have a male orchid who has had only one functional raptorial arm for 2 molts now. He is more than capable of feeding himself, and is doing very well. Hand feeding wouldn't hurt, but I'm sure the Ghostie will do just fine with one functioning arm. Evolution gave them 2 for a reason.....

She appears to be fine. She caught a large Bluebottle earlier with just the one arm, and did just fine. :)

Seems my Little Miss Mantis is always holding her prey with her right arm, while cleaning her left one. That would indicate to me that she'd be fine if she had to do with just one. That would be my guess anyway, for what it's worth! :)
