So, I've been putzing with different approaches to shipping nymphs, lately - which is a LOT easier than shipping adults. And I started looking real closely at paper towel rolls. Seems to me, I could throw a sponge in both ends and just sort of fill it up. Plenty of gripping area (it's ALL gripping area, really), and it doesn't really have any particular "up" issue (although end to end would probably have issues).

I'm thinking a larger version could work for shipping adults as well (no molting issues).

I found some 6oz plastifoam cups that I'm happy with, but I'm thinking someone has already come up with dozens of better approaches since the last time we posted on this. Anyone...?

I doubt that cardboard paper towel rolls would be strong enough. take the advice of an expert. Yen has a sticky on how to do it. Try it. You can't go wrong!

I often put them in syrofoam cups with excelsior.
