Have any of you tried using floral foam in a mantid enclosure?
I had been thinking it over as a way to attach upright sticks in a tall tank. The idea was that I would then just cover it with substrate.
I had to assume it was safe because my Prof said they used to rear moths in it. The caterpillars would be super happy to burrow into it.
Having looked at the stuff I have seen that some of it retains moisture (for live flower cuttings). So maybe the substrate would be unneeded (though the plain foam may look stupid).
So, the question is if anyone has used it.
