Actually, it is a European Mantis. I did not realize they could be so pale.

I'll be trying to mate her with my male (who is bright green) in a couple weeks.

Good luck. I love those but have never had any luck with them.

I havent had such good luck with these either but I like the species.

My very first Mantis was a huge female european who laid lots of ooths but they were all infertile.

Then I got 4 from Rebecca in here and now only have one small one left! Poor little guys just died off for no reason.

I do have a large wild caught male now that seems to be doing fine tho. If she eats your green male let me know and I can send you mine, he isnt green but he's still a male lol.

HuH, that's funny, I am sorry you guys are having a hard time with them, I always end up letting mine go outside because they do so well for me. I have 4 L5's inside right now and I keep thinking I will put them out but they are happy inside so I just leave em be. I give mine water twice a day at least. Maybe that's it. Try spraying them more. I like the way they stay crouched down, kind of like the ants, they both hug the screen!

Now that Yen pointed it out.

Your mantid reminds me of a TV

I don't know why.
