Hi Everyone,
For Christmas I'm getting a Haania Orlovi ooth. They are tiny moss mantises who eat springtails for their first several instars.
I got a 32oz container, filled the bottom with charcoal and water, and added springtails and rice. I used twigs to make an airspace above that, and over the twigs I put some live moss loosely. The springtails will have a month or two to multiply before the ooth hatches.
Eventually, the Haania will hatch onto the moss and gobble up springtails. I hopefully won't have to transfer the nymphs for a couple of molts.
Do you think it will work?
