I brought a mantid in a local pet shop today, labeled as Humbertiela sp. but..

Searched the net and cant find any info :S

so if anyone knows could you please let me know?

He is not in the U.S. I believe you can get them at pet stores over there.

Have you read the recent thread on shipping permits and the owning of exotic mantises in the US? A pet store is much more likely to be inspected for compliance than an individual. I have asked pet store owners and managers why they don't stock indiginous mantids, and they say that there is not enough interest for quick sales and losses are high if they are not sold quickly. There may be other reasons that I haven't thought of!
