ok so it was a nice day today so i put my mantis and its tank out side i took the cover off and was just watching it. well a friend showed up and i left with him when i got back my daughter told me the mantis had got away i looked for my self and and it was very much so gone so i just left the tank out side and left for work when i got home the mantis had returned and was on the top of the open tank is this a normal thing for a mantis to do?

Is there a lot of food by the tank? Don't think it's a normal thing.. maybe you just lucked out

well i only give it live food but no there was none around the tank lol but still i cant get over it. it came back!!!!

It was probably still in the tank or very near by.

They do not tend to go far and they do return imo to the spot they are familiar with.
