Sounds great doesn't it?
Hey everyone, this event is still nearly a year out, but we wanted to make the
announcement as soon as possible to allow people plenty of time to plan:
Tree Walkers International is proud to present Microcosm, a celebration of
life under glass. Microcosm is a new kind of event, the purpose of which is
to bring enthusiasts together through the common bond of nurturing life within
glass enclosures, from aquaria to vivaria, greenhouses and Wardian cases.
The theme of Microcosm is conservation. Just as species combine to form
healthy, functioning ecosystems, Microcosm seeks to form a coalition of
partners who apply their skills in cooperation to safeguard the planet's
biodiversity.
Microcosm will take place September 3-4, 2010 in Lynnwood, WA (just a few
minutes north of Seattle). It will be a two-day event featuring field trips,
lectures, workshops, vendor sale and a fundraising auction. All proceeds will
benefit Tree Walkers International to support amphibian conservation efforts.
For more information about the event, visit the Microcosm website at:
www.microcosm.treewalkers.org
More details will be added to the website in the coming weeks, so check back
often to see how things are coming together, order tickets to reserve your
spot at the conference, sign up to volunteer at the show, or register to be a
vendor. Things you can expect to see available at the show include:
amphibians, geckos, orchids, bromeliads, carnivorous plants, tropical plants,
aquatic and terrestrial invertebrates, literature and natural history related
items, custom terrariums and Wardian cases, and more.
This wont be your typical "insert hobby here" show organized and run by those with only their interests in mind. This is YOUR show, a chance to broaden your hobby and be enlightened about others. We're really hoping everyone will be excited about this and really spread the word and get involved with making the show a gigantic hit!
We hope to see you there!
