Sills criket water pillow?

Just saw these in the pet store and wondered it could be used for humidity instead of spraying?

I've got a bunch of those that I never really found a use for. I think they would work just fine for humidity. However, paper towel seems more effective and quite a bit cheaper. Mantises drop frass all over the enclosure, so these cricket pillows would get a little unsightly after awhile. Paper towel is a breeze to replace. Plus, it is easier to tell when it is completely dry again. The pillows aren't as obvious.

I don't trust those water pillows, or other water crystal/gel products. They are made of polyacylamide, which is a potent neurotoxin and carcinogen in its depolymerized form.
