Hey I am new here and I am planning to get a mantis so I have some questions:

I read that a draft from open window can be harmful to mantids so what do I do when I want to open windows to get some fresh air in the appartment. And outside temperatures can be pretty grim here.

Opposite to that the summers are sometimes very hot and I don't want my future mantis to roast, anything to do about that?

Last for now I dont go to long holidays just 3 or 4 days but I wouldn't be able to feed or mist the enclosure will they survive? I dont wanna come home to a dead mantis. Should I put some food in the enclosure before I leave?

Thanks to anyone who helps me in advance.

Hey there :)
About the draft I wouldn't be too worried. As long as the mantis doesn't stand next to the window and in the middle of the draft it should be fine.

Just have an eye on the temperature in the enclosure and don't let it drop too much.
But if you have a lamp it should stay warm enough.

About the holiday, I wouldn't be too worried either. I often stay away for 2-3 days and it was okay.
Maybe I have to say that I have 5 different species and they all make it.
I also have a timer that switches the lights on and off after 12 hours for the ones that need it warmer than my room temperature.

I spray and feed them before I leave and spray them again when I return. :) it works just fine.

I'm not sure about the honey, but why would you feed it honey anyway? I know honey is used to treat sick mantids, but it's not their common nutrition. :)

Hope I could help!
