Looking for male Ghost to mate with my female

Hello everyone. So, I thought my male and female were one instar apart (female molted to adult 3-4 weeks ago), but turns out he just molted to sub-adult yesterday. So I'm in need of a mature adult male to mate with her. I prefer to borrow a male and pay in ooths, but I may be able to afford to...

    Male ghost molt

This whole time I thought my male and female were one instar apart. I guess I might wanna get another adult male for now, it's gonna be awhile before the last molt...

    Male ghost molt

Male Ghost mantis finally molted again today, after a long wait of over 6 weeks, to adult. Or so I thought. I swear he's the size of my female adult Ghost who has her wings, but his look like sub-adult stubs. Please tell me he didn't just molt into sub-adult. My female has been an adult for...

    T. Sinensis hatch

I'm gonna do that, but with a locally native mantis species, not with these. I just need to get some S. Californica.

I have too many to handle!

I think a great idea would be to donate as many as you can to your local high schools. They can use them for study in certain classes like biology (I think). I'm actually gonna do the same thing myself and see if my high school won't take some for educational purposes.

    T. Sinensis hatch

I'm not even done counting them all out yet. I just finished separating 80 nymphs into one 80oz container (50) and three 16oz cups (10 each), and there are at least that many left in the hatching container. Still have another ooth waiting to hatch. I'm starting to realize the magnitude of this...

    T. Sinensis hatch

Yeah, I'm expecting some cannibalism as I'm gonna have to keep them in groups, for individual cups would take up way too much space. I'll be sure to keep the groups well fed to reduce the chances of cannibalism. I plan to sell most of them when they hit L3/L4 instar. I may release some outdoors...

    T. Sinensis hatch

Came home from the store tonight to find probably over 100 babies had hatched! I'm gonna have to separate them into groups tomorrow.

Female Ghost waiting for male to molt

My female Ghost is almost 3 weeks into maturity and is calling for a mate, who happens to be in the cup right next to hers. It seems like it's been a long time since the male Ghost's last molt, and I'm eagerly waiting for him to molt so I can mate them soon. Both under the same conditions. Is...

    Oothecae ???

Really? I read the American Stick Mantis is the only confirmed species to reproduce this way. I'll do more research of my own, but if you're correct, then I'd love to get my hands on this species. So after further research, I found the Egyptian Pygmy Mantis will reproduce parthenogenicly IF no...

    Fastest incubation times?

Yes, they are closely related I believe, and are similar in appearance and incubation time. Any other species, or info on where to buy them?

    Oothecae ???

They can produce and lay an ooth without being fertile, but they won't hatch... I've heard of rare cases where unfertilized eggs hatched, but it's not supposed to happen. The only confirmed parthenogenic (no males in the species whatsoever) species is Brunneria Borealis. Of you waited 7 weeks...

    Fastest incubation times?

I just Googled that species and was amazed to see how astonishing it's appearance is. I absolutely love the moth-like antennae. Any idea who or where sells these?

Which species have the shortest ooth incubation time?

    babies!!

If you could, I'd save as many as possible and release them after the bad weather has passed. But that's just me, I wanna increase their chances of survival, and this isn't their natural habitat as T. Sinensis (or at least I wouldn't think so).

    Two questions

Thank you for your input. Tomorrow I'm gonna go buy a thermometer and humidity gauge to place in there so I Dan get an exact reading. Only then will I know for sure. I shined my phone light through it in several places at different angles. Though I didn't see anything inside, I do believe I...

    Two questions

I feel dumb asking, cuz I'm really impatient when I have to wait for something I'm tremendously excited for. But, I have a sub-adult male ghost who is coming up on two weeks behind my female, and I have two Chinese ooths I'm trying to hatch. So, question one: how can I make my male molt sooner...

    Stagmomantis Californica on the coast

    I don't know, I think that's what I'm trying to find out.

    Stagmomantis Californica on the coast

I live in Northern California about a mile from the ocean. On average, the temperature here does not go nearly as far in either direction compared to just 30 miles over the hill where summers are hot and it snows in the winter. Average 75-80 degrees in the summer days and ~30-35 in the winter...
