Looking to buy a few species of Mantids

Hey, I'm back with full setups ready to go now!  And I'm looking for Hierodula Majuscula mantids, preferably at L4+, female orchids, spiny flowers, and other larger species.  Please PM me if you have any available!  (I am also looking for springtails)

    Looking to purchase hierodula majuscula

Any instar is fine, honestly.  I recently moved so I'm able to breed mantids again and I've always liked giant rainforest mantids!  Females preferred.

A wonderful and quick transaction.  He even threw in an extra Majuscula nymph as well as some hissing roaches (which unfortunately I couldn't home, so I donated them to a local exotic pet store).  I would definitely recommend him!

Looking to buy sub adult mantids

Hey there, I'm looking to buy a few species of sub adult mantid, specifically Indian flower mantis, female orchid mantis, female spiny flower mantis, Megaera.  I can't house all of them so one or two would be great.  Those are the only species I'm looking for, though.  Please PM me if you have...

    Infection/rot/wound on lower abdominal segment?

I've noticed that my adult indian flower mantis (female) has a dark stripe on her 5th segment, it looks kind of soggy and dark brown looking, and it's drawing my concern.  She doesn't seem to have any wounds on the rest of her body, but i've been offering her honey.  What's the best treatment...

Silkworms as feeders for larger species

I've always taken an interest in raising silkworms, and seeing as soon I'll own a few of the larger mantis breeds, I was curious to hear if silkworms could also be used as a feeder for them.  I've heard that horn worms aren't the best choice due to the fact that their bodies are mostly water...

From Chicago, a new hobbyist approaches!

Ah, lovely dolls!  I've always wanted to learn how to sew.  Maybe one of these days I'll pick up the skill.

Pinkidemus happily ate about ten fruit flies today!  I think they're (I don't know the gender) getting more of an appetite, they seem to be growing pretty quickly!

    Howdy from Texas

Welcome to the forums!  That is an adorable tarantula, fuzzy little guy.  I was actually looking into getting a tarantula.  Any you would recommend to beginners?

Thank you!  Here are some pictures of Pinkidemus after their molt!

    Housing ghosts.

Hey there, I've read that ghosts tend not to cannibalize on each other as much as long as the enclosure is large enough.  From my knowledge, ghosts don't get too large; however, I was wondering on how big an enclosure should be to house multiple ghosts together, and if it's even worth doing...

    Sup

That's actually where i got my two mantids.  The owner is more than happy to communicate, and both of the girls I got were very happy and healthy!

How soon should I try feeding her after the molt?  I offered her a tiny phoenix worm and a flightless fruit fly but she didn't seem interested.

Hey there!  I believe that this store has some spiny flowers for sale.  I was actually thinking of getting one, too.

so it turns out Pinkidemus wasn't eating because... she molted!  A healthy molt, all her parts in tact.

I'd love to see the terrariums if you can post some images.  Welcome to the forums, and to the hobby!

From Chicago, a new hobbyist approaches!

Thank you!  I am currently offering her very, very small flightless fruit flies.  She hasn't eaten since she has arrived.  She's currently in a small temporary tank (an exoterra cricket pen that I made into a simple vivarium) and there aren't many flies in it at all.  In fact, they usually just...

From Chicago, a new hobbyist approaches!

Thank-you everyone! I'm growing more and more concerned for my orchid mantis.  She hasn't eaten in four days and is starting to look rather skinny.  I've tried offering her fruit flies with tweezers but instead of taking the still flailing fly, she climbs up the tweezers ignoring the food.  ...

When should I start worrying when mantids aren't eating?  It's been three days now and neither of them have wanted to eat.
