    Experience with Peruvian Leaf Mantis

I also received this species from Panterra.  I assume their care is similar to most jungle type species.  I give them extra humidity and basically keep them like most of my other species.  If I learn something new i will pass on the info.

He's successful because he has a name and that makes him want to pass down his genes.  😂

    Science Fair Experiment

I'm in the mantis keepers facebook page and it's the largest mantis group on FB as far as I know (almost 10,000 members) and it is very active.  Let me know if you want me to do it.  Your parents are smart keeping you off facebook (and hopefully most social media) at your age.  Fantastic job on...

    Thistle Mantis Dried Like This

I guess what they say about being dropped on the head as a child is true!  Haha.  Congrats on the final molt.  At least he is in a perpetual threat posture and nobody will mess with him!

    New and overwhelming

Welcome to the hobby and be careful not too get too carried away with these little aliens.  They're so addicting!  I wish I could provide you with more information regarding the troubles you're running into but  @MantisGirl13 and @hysteresis basically covered your questions.

    mantisplace/Rebecca

I have only ordered supplies and feeders from mantisplace.com because the live mantis prices were always quite high.  But you cant beat her prices for supplies/feeders and I never had an issue with any orders i received from her.  I just wish the website was more optimized for scrolling and listing.

Gonatista grisea - the hunt is on

I'm in North Florida and never seen one while hiking.  Those bastards are pretty fast, too.  Luckily, i was able to buy a nymph to add to my vivarium once it gets larger.  Let us know if you find any!

    Mantis record keeping

That's quite some dedication.  I use Excel as well and i really only track molts with some basic identifying info.  I feel like using Access is best suited for large data sets but considering that you track so many data points you might find a good use for it.

    hi + introduction

Welcome to the hobby and nice to have you.  Like everyone is saying, ghosts are a great low-cannibalism species.  Plus, they look absolutely awesome in a subtropical/temperate vivarium!  I've read that Texas Unicorn Mantids are low risk as well (https://bugguide.net/node/view/71463).  I have two...
