    Two at once

My L1 nymphs were doing that yesterday with Hydei flies... Although most of them were unsuccessful, one or two did get 1 fly in each hand. It was kinda funny to watch

    Ooth hatched

Funny you said that, just as i was reading your post my girlfriend texted me asking if she should look for bugs lol :) I have some Hydei coming in the mail, worse case scenario ill feed them some pinheads, thats the smallest food i can find around my area, no one seems to carry fruit flyes.

    Ooth hatched

I came home after a walk late last night and discovered that the Ootheca hatched!! The only problem is that it seems that some of the mantids have something on their back legs that doesnt seem to come off, looks like part of the ootheca maybe... also some have been hanging there since last...

    Enclosure for Ootheca

I will take your advice! I ended up having to take the double sided tape out because the ooth fell off of it. I put a little bit of hot glue on the stick that the ooth is attached to and stuck it on that way, this way it should be safer for the nymphs when they hatch since there will be no...

    Enclosure for Ootheca

It's 6 1/2 (tall) x 5 1/2. They come in packs of 2 at walmart. Be careful when you cut the lids though, they're kinda flimsy, my first one shattered. I think i will put paper on the sticky part all around the egg

    Enclosure for Ootheca

What do you guys think? I picked this up at walmart and cut a hole in the top. I used fiberglass netting on top and on the side. The Ooth is attached to the top net with doublesided tape (which is also hotglued to the net just in case).

    Enclosure for Ootheca

I am thinking of setting up my ootheca in a 10 gallon tank with a very fine net glued under the screen that would cover it. Or should I set it up in a large platic container? Any advice?

    Hello from Philly

Hey my name is Tiberiu, I'm 24 years old... from the philly area. I have several plants in my back yard and in front of the house that have been getting destroyed year after year by aphids and flea beetles so I ended up researching ways to deal with those nasty creatures without chemicals. One...
