Found a female chinese mantid, I believe. She is very large and healthy looking, but her abdomen looks like it has 'blown' out at the right lateral abdomen. I attached some photos to show this. It has hardened and she is still functioning, just clumsy. any help would be greatly appreciated...

My Chinese male ate the head off of the female Chinese mantid . Only ate the head and left her to wander around without one. And wander she did. Why did this happen. Never heard of male eating female! Sad...

His antennae are both facing opposite directions and one looks bent. One north and one south . Could this have anything to do with it.

How do I know if my mantis has completed molting! I didn't bet to see it happen, he literally doubled in size over night and has wings now. He was upside down when I found him hanging from a stick for a long time but I don't see the skin anywhere. I was thinking maybe the crickets in the cage...
