So my female chinese mantis just molted and became an adult. I can't really tell if her wings are botched from the molt or she just has to puff them up or something. Never had a mantis get to full size before through molting so not sure what they should look like after a molt. Do the wings unfold or something?

Should be fine, the wings have to unfurl.

As long as it didn't fall while molting.

Wings can form improperly but from how they look in your photo I would guess they look perfect now.

That's how wings normally look like when drying up. I don't see any errors in the drying so far and I think it's going to turn out to be a good specimen.

not really the wings should be longer then that if its a chinese but if it is not done molting then the wings will be longer but if it stopped molting then thats what it will look like!

They are not done unfurling yet in that pic.

Yeah when I came downstairs this morning I saw her like in the first picture I linked. Didn't know if those scrunched up tips were messed up wings or if they had to inflate. Would never have expected them to blow up so fully so I was just checkin! After about an hour though they completely unfurled. I'm very pleased with how she turned out! Now to find her a mate....
