Hi, my name is Gretchen and I just joined this forum. Thank you for accepting me. I live in MD and have always been fascinated by mantids.

Though I don't have any formal interest in keeping them as pets, I've grown rather fond of one that has taken up residence on my porch. She's been there since Wednesday and it's almost Monday now.

:balloon: (I'm just guessing it's a she...I've only been able to count 5 abdominal segments.)

The way I look at it, if you're going to live on my porch, not ask for food or money, and act as an exterminator, you are welcome to stay!

I just fed my mantis another stink bug...but before she ate it, she had it grasped in her right "hand", but proceeded to apparently clean her left "hand" with her mouth before chowing down. She also appears to wash up after a meal. Sanitary mantis, cool beans!
