Hi, my name is Michael, I live in California.
I've always been fascinated by living things as long as I can remember, since my dad had used to spend his free time taking me out with him whenever he wanted to go fishing or hiking.
Some of my first memories are of my dad coming home with some sort of animal for me to look at. Some of the favorites I remember are some awesome stag beetles that I learned as a toddler could give a painful bite, praying mantids, and frogs.
Well, that was back in Taiwan, and now I've been living in California since 1995. I'm currently in college with zoology as my major, and for a while, my interests were mostly fish and frogs, but recently, I've rediscovered the fun in keeping insects and started collecting. I've had tarantulas for years now, and at the Herp World Expo during the summer, I saw some ghost mantids for sale. I decided to buy five of them, and they quickly reminded me of when I used to play with mantids in the garden and how much I enjoyed observing them. It turned out that I purchased one female and four males, and the female just died recently after molting to L5.
I decided to try to find a new female around the same age online and was unable to, so I decided I should join this forum to see if anyone had any for sale. I've always kept animals, and I've often relied forums like this for information about care and behavior, so I suppose it's also about time I contributed to the hobby myself... or maybe continue lurking if I have nothing good to say :shifty: .
