Hi All! It's been a week or so since I've last been on the forum, and here's why. The past three years I have competed in the regional science fair in Southern Nevada. I did three projects (in the past three years) on different aspects of praying mantids. All three times I won first place in my plant and animal category. However, this year I also was chosen to attend the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair. Over 1,500 kids from around the nation and around the world (65 countries) traveled to Los Angeles this year to compete in varying categories. It started on Monday and lasted all the way until today (the awards being presented today). It was a very AWESOME experience to say the very least. My project: "Developmental and Behavioral Analysis of Wild and Captive-bred Tenodera sinensis" took Third Place in the Animal Science Category. I'm SOooooooo excited and happy that I placed, just making it to the fair is an accomplishment enough. Anyway, here are some links to the fair. A lot of you would enjoy the experiments. I mean there were kids working on kidney cells, analyzing neurological senses of the Drosophila brain, and developing automaton machines to drive "smart". Seriously, the projects were insane. Here are some links so you guys can see what I'm talking about. I just wanted to share this for you all and to the teenagers on this forum, you should learn more about it to get your school to compete. I'm a senior, so I'm finished competing, but it was nice to make it this far in my last year.

Also, a kid from Reno won like second or third place, which is REALLY great for the state of Nevada.
