what is best species

looking for the easiest species to raise..new and want to get started

Chinese Praying Mantis(Tenodera aridifolia sinensis) google it. you could probably buy chinese mantid ooths at garden stores or find your own. I found 13 ooths in a grown up meadow a few weeks ago :wink:

Chinese are not the easiest to raise. They are easiest to get though. African mantids are very easy to raise.

P. agrionina, African budwing was one of my first mantids. I found it easy to raise. Aggressive eater. Fairly colorful.

I agree with rick on the african that was my first and never hand a single problem she was great

there a nice size, typical bright green (mine was but they do come in brown as well) nice and calm and never turned down a meal
