Why Hello...

Hi all! New around here and figured i would stop in here and say hello! Currently just collecting various mantids for hobby and not to breed. Someday maybe...but not yet.  I will be poking through the forums gradually for tips and ideas on habitats as i have seen some various set up's that look cool and interesting. 

I have 3 kids total- all boys who happen to love things creepy, crawly and weird! They are at the age when they are really interested in all things nature- so this has been a wonderful experience to watch our nymphs grow together, learn different species of mantids and to have a deeper appreciation for the small things in life. (Although our Giant African Mantis isn't so small...lol)

Great to hear you are sharing the hobby with your kids as it is fun to have someone to share it with. Perhaps they may even turn out to be entomologists, or at least appreciate all forms of "critters".

Lots of mantid collections to see on here, some of the most recently updated ones are from Sally, CosbyArt (mine), MantidBro, and LAME (that should keep you busy looking for awhile).
