When they are l1 to like l4 I think it shouldn't hurt but when they get close to adult they will need something like a stick to molt on

Rhombodera cf valida HATCH (extreme closeup)

Wow amazing video. Always been a fan of your videos on YouTube. I'm surprised how far down they hang from the Ooth or is it just me?

    mantis no more

Im sorry for your losses. Its frustrating to lose mantids at later instar. Are you buying your crickets from the store?

    Bigger container

I have mine in a 12" by 12" net cube. Used for butterflies. I see your problem. It's a pain trying to keep fruit flies in a tank. I would wait till they are off of fruit flies and on to bigger feeders and move them to the tank. Well majority of them.

    Bigger container

I keep mine inside. I have paper towels at the bottom which I spray like every 5hours. Pour in 100 fruit flies every other day.

    Totally Pissed!!

I have not had this problem myself or have any proof but I read a lot on the forums and I have seen in many cases ppl saying that you should sterilize the stick from outside. Kill all the possibilities.

    Totally Pissed!!

ventilation seems fine to me. did you bake the sticks you used in the new bigger enclosure in the pic? possibly there was something on the branch that harmed your mantid.

    Bigger container

I would go with all in the aquarium. More perching spots where they can hang upside down. If they are fed well you shouldn't have any problems. I have like 35ish ghost all l3 in a 12" by 12" net cube with a a bendable fake branch and they all do fine 0 deaths since hatching out of the Ooth

    Gray Ghost nymphs?

take some pics if you can
  15. rSon

    Parymenopus davisoni

with this davisoni nymph i would rather be safe than sorry and use bamboo skewers if you can. they are cheap and wont harm your nymph. although they may not look natural its worth it to avoid hazard
