Hello all; I've noticed a few of the times that I get my L4 nymph, Siri, out for some exercise that he'll almost lay down on my hand for quite awhile. He extends his folded raptorials out and lays flat on me -once with his abdomen curled up and twice with it straight. I'm just wondering... do...

Did you watch or just see the skin after? The first molt I've ever witnessed was two nights ago, and it was so nerve-wracking! :lol: Glad your little guy got through it fine, and congrats!

Oh my goodness, he's so tiny and spiky! :lol: Do they retain those oversized "segments" on their antennae as they grow older? I'd never noticed that before!

I love how every individual is so unique. The first picture especially is nice; the contrast between the brown highlights and the green is gorgeous! I have a bipapilla/patellifera and he's got only the slightest hints of brown... I'd love for him to get a bit more "caramelized"! ^_^

Wow! Very cool! You must know where to look to have found so many, or are they fairly common? So pretty: the patterns on that adult and the bright green on the nymph!

Ah. Right then. ^_^ I didn't even think about that. I know they have an open circulatory system, so I thought at first it was the pulse of "blood" but I swear I read somewhere on here that lots of pulsing could be a sign of getting ready to molt. Oh well. Good to know. :)

That newest picture is beautiful! I don't know if it's the brighter lighting, but the yellow on her thorax just pops out! Really makes me want to acquire an orchid mantis... :lol:
