Plunged into the world of centipede keeping!

I don't plan on getting tagged (then again who does?). When it comes to my hots, every specimen I work with get's treated as if it's the first time. Got blue?

Honestly, I didn't edit this photo at all. Just used flash on the photo the capture the colour. The specimens you saw were likely due for a molt.

    Indeed but they aren't 90$ for a female ;) .

Plunged into the world of centipede keeping!

Agreed! I have no idea how to sexe these guys as of yet. I don't think it's the same as millipedes either.

    Got blue?

For those of you who have been keeping tarantulas and don't know about these beauties, you need to eventually own one in your collection at some point in time and this is why. Enjoy! One of my two female Poecilotheria metallica's recently molted.

Plunged into the world of centipede keeping!

Hey guys, So I'm not sure what inspired this interest because honestly, although I love animals passionately, I have always had some sort of a fear of centipedes. The speed, the legs, the venom, they gave me the heebie-jeebies! I always like to research the husbandry of various animals...

    Easy feeders to culture?

I breed and culture wax worms with great success. I think I am going to have to make a thread about it. It's quite easy and pays off incredibly.

    First Real Mating (Popa spurca)

One female laid a dud. I don't know why my male hasn't molted yet. Think I can borrow your male when we make our transaction? Thank you.

    Mendica

My thinking is perhaps these hairs aid in picking up morning humidity/dew that would form water droplets that they could consume for hydration before the "heat of the desert day comes out to play".
