    Exo-Terra nano.

I keep hoping to stumble across one (or more) of those nanos on the cheap but thus far no luck.

    Largest mantids?

You mean that I can't take what I find on the net as "gospel"?! That there are people out there who are full of ___?! *gasp* Wikipedia is about the most annoying of the sites folks I run into quote. Trying to get through to them that anyone can post info to Wiki and so info there must be...

Oy! She's a fat sucker! I'm amazed she didn't "pop" stuffing that meal down!

    Velvet ant stack

Sweet pic! One of these days I'll have to learn how to do image stacking. I've seen some truly magnificent pictures created using that method.

    Chilean Rose molting intervals?

    P. Murinus

More correctly, they are very "defensive". ;) Nice OBT! (Orange Bitey Thing) As I recall they are very speedy too. As such, I would not be in any hurry to try taking pics with the lid off.

The Newest Addition to My Collection!

Have you checked for any herp shows in driving distance? In my state there are at least a couple that hold shows on a monthly basis. Emps are quite durable so I would encourage you to give it another go. ;)

    Chilean Rose molting intervals?

If she is molting on a yearly basis then she is still relatively young even though mature. As they get older, then time between molts can increase markedly. My 12+ year old female has not molted in 2 or 3 years now, perhaps longer. (I lost track.) It's normal particularly with these long...

    another Latrodectus bishopi

Didn't want to be rude and simply add my pics to Jack's post without asking but figured I'd post pics while I was thinking of it. This is my lil red widow. Been a fairly fast grower, though I'm used to T's so my perspective is likely skewed. I obtained it in July of this year and it has...

    curly hair moult

Yep. Typically wait one to two weeks after the molt has occurred before offering prey. Do make sure to have water available though.

    Crab Spider eats Sweat Bee

Excellant pics there. Japanese beetles have been extremely scarce around here. I think I've seen one all summer.

    Popa spurca

That's it!!! "Spermatophore"! I was having a MAJOR braincramp and could not remember what the term for that was! Thanks Precarious. ;)

    Hawkmoth / Hornworm Question

While concern is understandable, do keep in mind that what is poisonous for one animal often is not for another. I have fed hornworms to leopard frogs with no ill effects. The family of a friend of mine used to have chickens when he was a kid and they always tossed the hornworms from the tomato...
