what about room for moulting ?

now that is impressive ... the only way i could think this happend is the ooth material which is foamy . starts life as liquid . you know like washing up liquid . a little bit .. you froth it around and it looks alot more than what come out of the bottle + she was filled with eggs .

ian looks like that shipment you got turned out to be all sorts of mantids lol ... mine consisted of grandis and parviceps . lol . 8)

looks like a subadult to me . also looks like he will shed pretty soon due to the size of his buds . you can always buy them fold away dog kennels . they are really cheap and work wonders when it comes to moulting , ive never had a fallen mantid in one of these . heres a link for example ...

they are , they always bite my tweasers and things i stick in front of there mouth . they even took down a locust . as soon as they realised it was there .. they swarmed it ! never tried to bite me though !

you could place the jar in a bowl of shallow water ... then the ants wont be able to reach it !!! well thats the idea :lol: Neil

mine did exactly the same !!!!! would be interesting to see why ... all of my membranaceas have been like this . i just take the lid off with them still attached . then place the food next to them and they chase it down . people say membranacea is an active hunter ... mine have never been while...

one of my membrancea didnt eat for over a week because he was going to moult . then he did moult and was extreamly weak afterwards . I.E. couldnt catch prey properly and just slumped there till i hand fed him . he be fine ever since !!! maybe thats what yours is going to do ? neil
