    Molt problems

Not posted in a while, but just a little update to see if I can get advice. My pair of Egyptian miomantis paykulli are still going, one very well, the other, almost half the size, and pale in comparison with little appetite, especially after the recent molt problem where they had to be held...

    Mantid shed problem/broken leg

https://anonimage.net/image/D0C7pKq1Ea Please see attached image, my mantis fell during a molt, I found her wriggling on the floor of her home so I had to delicately as possible hold it up, this has been somewhat successful as she is alive and moving around, but unfortunately the leg is...

    Nymph handling

Do you guys handle your nymphs every day, or every other day? I try to get them socialised well so they're tame and hopefully not so jumpy, but I don't want to stress the little guys out.

    L4 Egyptian mantis nymph sexing

https://anonimage.net/image/oQDnd8VSAX Still possible early but getting clearly defined with every molt. I have a rough idea, but just need another rough idea to compare it to.

    Climbing materials for mantids

Looking for alternatives to tree branches, they appear to be going mouldy in only a week. Do you guys have alternatives that are safe, easy for the little dudes to traverse, don't go mouldy, and look good aesthetically? Would some type of plastic vine be acceptable or do they require something...

    Fruitfly culture advice

https://anonimage.net/image/u19KtWX7zt Can anyone advise me on the health of this colony going by the mould? Livefoodsdirectltd told me this is what a healthy culture looks like after 1 week. It was black within days, and 7 days later has gone full green mould, which they told me their experts...

Is this a healthy fruitfly culture?

https://anonimage.net/image/Jt4gKgP7Y9 I've been advised this is an unhealthy culture. It was purchased from a reputable company on eBay who claim never have any issues with mites or mold. I would appreciate an expert opinion as it's very wet and dark in places, definitely mold in my opinion.

    Emergency fruitfly advice

I have a fruit fly colony, but no flies. There's are so many pupae ready to pop, but might be another day or 2. Is there anything I can do to speed up their hatching? Or should I go get some micro crickets or something in the meantime? https://anonimage.net/image/Z68nYJ9nvB here was a a pupa...

    Mantis sexing

Probably still too early to sex an L3 Egyptian, but on the off chance there are some indicators for the experts on this forum, please take a moment to see if there is anything there that could give a clue. https://anonimage.net/image/Ma6Ah3nMQ

    Fruit fly advice

I got a fruitfly culture from livefoods direct on saturday, many have died off and I've been told I potentially have a mite infestation. Are there any guarantees or can this just happen? I have some culture kits on the way to keep it going, but if I use those, will I just infect the new culture...

    L2 mio nymph levelling up?

https://anonimage.net/image/1WSXxxJbYw I'm pretty sure one of my mios are starting to molt, that explains the very picky eating over the last few days. Then other is still ravenous and seems to be eating maybe 2 fruit flies a day.

L2 Nymph feeding, food colony startup

I would like to start a sustainable colony to keep a constant supply of food, rather than relying on them being delivered. What would you guys recommend? Sticking with fruitflies? Is there anything else that could be suitable?

    L2 Egyptian Mantis

https://anonimage.net/image/BRkMyU73Fa Little tricky to get good photos of mio nymphs one handed without a macro lens, but I took a 4K video and took screenshots of the clearer ones. These guys close up will alter your perspective on them, they have so much detail you can't see with the naked...

    Hypothetical Ooth tips

If You happen to get a surprise ooth, how to you guys deal with the influx of mantids? Do you just need one suitable large tank for them all to live in until they are rehoused when they molt? Or even give to a local pet store or enthusiasts nearby?

    Mantid treats

I've heard of honey as a treat, but I'm curious to see what else they seem to enjoy eating as a treat. What do you guys feed them?

    Sexing Miomantis Paykulli

Hi, I know it's early but I heard if there a clear abdomen shot someone skilled enough in sexing them may be able to identify if the Mantids are male or female. https://anonimage.net/image/8A3s0xGl

    L2 Nymph feeding

Only one of my Miomantis Paykullii L2 nymphs have had one half of a fruitfly, how many should they be eating and how often?

    Miomantis Paykulli nymphs

My guys just arrived safe today, got one transferred to it's new habitat, the other I've left in the dish because it's busy chowing down on one of the flies included in the shopping container. I'm guessing it's happy & healthy if it's eating.
